CONTEMPORARY ZEN PRACTICE IN THE BIG BEND
Meditation Schedule - Wednesday
Each Wednesday, morning meditation will begin promptly at 6:15 am and will conclude at 6:45 am. Evening meditation will begin promptly at 6:15 pm, will conclude at 7:15 pm. The morning program will feature one thirty-minute sit. The evening program will feature two thrity-minute sits with walking meditation in between. If you're new to meditation, please arrive 20 minutes early to evening meditation for an orientation.
After evening meditation, you’re welcome to stay for informal tea during which time we can get to know one another and chat about our practice. When coming to meditation, please plan to arrive at least 5 minutes early. You may leave your shoes on the front porch. Then enter the front door and be seated in the zendo.
Depth in Practice Study Group - Mondays
This group meets weekly to study together some rich and challenging texts, reading a paragraph at a time and discussing the implications for practice. In other words, we don't rush to finish, but savor the resonance of the text with our practice. We record each meeting and post it for those folks who miss a meeting If this method appeals to you, please join us! There is no fixed charge for this group; people do make contributions at their own discretion. The group meets Monday evenings from 7:00-8:30.
